Dental Insurance

Covering the Care We Provide

Dental insurance can be a wonderful benefit. It can also be complex, difficult to understand, and the source of some unpleasant surprises. The best way to avoid these surprises is to understand your dental insurance benefits thoroughly. Your best source of accurate information regarding your dental benefits is usually your company’s human resources or employee benefits office.

Your dental insurance policy is a contract between you, or your employer, and the insurance company. Most dental insurance is designed to provide coverage for routine preventive care. Our goal is to provide you with care that can reliably produce the best possible results in the long run. As a result, there will likely be some services you will need or want that are not covered, or are only partially covered, by your dental insurance policy. Many plans also have an annual dollar limit of their benefits. This means that once the limit is reached, no other services will be covered for the duration of the year.

It is important that you understand the limits and coverage of your dental insurance and that you provide our office with all the information necessary to process your claims efficiently. Since there are literally hundreds of dental insurance plans and variations, our office cannot interpret your contract for you. Similarly, we cannot resolve disputes between patients and insurers regarding their coverage, other than to provide factual information.

We participate with United Concordia, Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, UPMC, MetLife, Sunlife, TriCare, Principal and will submit claims for most other insurers. This means that the insurer can pay us directly, but it does not mean that your account will always be paid in full. You are ultimately responsible for the timely payment of your account, regardless of the behavior of your insurance company. We do not work with any HMO plans.

If you do not have insurance, we expect payment of the total fee on the day service is provided. Our staff will be pleased to provide an estimate of fees when you make your appointment.

Should your treatment require more than one appointment, we require a 50 percent down payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and CareCredit.
